Creating Healthier Thoughts and Actions | Tonight’s #Fitblog Chat

What can I say? I LOVE my TRIBE! I’m not sure how it happened – it was certainly not part of my master plan. But last fall I accidentally discovered #fitblog on twitter – an amazingly loving and supportive community sharing their ups and downs on creating healthier thoughts and actions for a happier life. So when I met  the LOVELY Katy Widrick at #fitbloggin (who BTW is even more adorable, inspiring and brilliant in person) and learned that even a wannabe-fit-person could host, I jumped at the opportunity!

So welcome! Join us! TONIGHT (and every Tuesday night) at 6:00 pm PST using the #fitblog tag (or use the Live Fitblog Chat site).

We’ll be discussing Creating Healthier Thoughts and Actions.

  1. What current thought keeps you from being your healthiest right now?
  2. What current action/habit keeps you from being your healthiest right now?
  3. What do you need to change that action? How can we help?
  4. What one feat/challenge (big or small) will you try/do/work towards this month?

And for those who don’t know me, here’s a little of the back story behind @krazy_kris ….

  1. I am a reluctant exerciser, but I’m convinced that with trickery and fakery, I might really like it some day.
  2. I’m in the process of going back to my maiden name – welcome back Kris M. Beal!
  3. I fainted at the gym during rush hour by the smith machine.  They forced me to leave via gurney {GASP}!
  4. There was a time in my life that I didn’t eat before mid-afternoon.
  5. I don’t read as much as I should. And I don’t read on the cardio machines.
  6. There is a direct correlation between my good mood and walking to work.
  7. I have wildly curly hair and have finally learned to accept it.
  8. Coffee brings me joy. I will never love coffee more than water.
  9. In the last year, I enjoyed my first fig, acorn squash, and kohlrabi.
  10. I’m happy to report that my garden is still alive {fingers crossed}, and I now use a knife in the kitchen a few times per week.

My Bike and Me (Still Learning How to Ride)

Special thanks to my early #Fitblog friends for welcoming me, showing me the ropes, and being such WONDERFUL support! We’ve swapped workouts, nudged each other off the couch, shared tips, and celebrated all the big and small achievements.

Let’s hear from you? What do you love about #fitblog and your tribe?

  1. I loved reading these things about you:) But what is kohlrabi? My tribe. I’ve always wondered what the definition is for that. All I can say is that when I started blogging I had no idea what it entailed or was like, had hardly ever read a blog, and the best surprise was the community I found. The support and friendship and laughs and wisdom keep me going and often brighten my day. For me, the community is the very best thing about the blog world. Thanks for being part of mine:)

Ha! I don’t know what kohlrabi is exactly – I “think” its a root! We got it in our CSA and I peeled it, coated it with oil, salt and garlic and roasted – finished last 5 min w parm cheese – sooooooo good!

And YES the best part of all of this is the people – Thank YOU for being part of my tribe xoxo

You’re gonna do great tonight! I need to sign up to moderate one of these days :) xoxo

  3. And I thank you, love your perspective on life and exercise. I love to surround myself with strong smart ladies (who love wine)

  4. “I use a knife a few times a week” — this made me giggle. I love that I know several of these stories! I’m sorry I wasn’t available for your fitblog :( you just have to do it again ;)

    welcome back, Kris Beal! <3

Confession – sometimes a few times a week is an exaggeration – but ALWAYS once a week :)

And yes – Kris Beal is Back! xoxo
