100th Post, Birthday Month, and Music Monday

Lucy and Me - Makes Sense, Right?

That’s right friends, it’s the 100th post of the Heart and Humor of Being Human! I had some posts scheduled, but when I saw that little 99 up on the dashboard, I panicked! Clearly, my next post was not worthy of this krazy milestone.

And just to top it off, today marks the beginning of my birthday month. That’s right – I celebrate all month because I can. And since I share a birthday with Lucille Ball, you can expect some Lucy inspiration this month.

Since I was born during the summer of love (for those of you that don’t know, that was 1967), Music Monday all month will celebrate one of the greatest years in music.  (Of course I’m a little biased, but I’m old enough to have earned my bias).

SO MANY GEMS to choose from – soul, hippy music, rock – many perfect debuts -  yes, this part of the post required much time and thought.

But today’s Music Monday 1967 tune has to go to Aretha Franklin. Enjoy this BRILLIANT live version of I’ve Never Loved a Man.

And about this 100th post milestone….

THANK YOU! I know I’ve said this before, but I SO APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU! I love my tribe! Your generosity, sense of humor, support, and honesty have enriched my life and made me a better person. You’ve helped me survive my teen spawn and his leaving the nest, you’ve coached me in the kitchen, you’ve laughed with me on my wickedly awesome bike rides, and you’ve gotten this reluctant exerciser off the couch.

I thought about doing a 100 list – but I’m in the woods and my body and brain are soooooo relaxed and tired.

So I decided to do a 100 list but to break it up into pieces…

But for a theme? SO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!

Drumroll please…..

100 Things that Make Me Smile (in no particular order)

100. My favorite hat of all time – sweat stains and all.

When all else fails, give people "the look", and point to the hat.

99. Chobani Greek Yogurt and Uncle Sam’s Honey & Almond Cereal for Breakfast (mmmm)

98. Bike Coach (aka BF+) Practicing MUCH Patience With Me

97. Spabettie (All Things About Her Make Me Smile)

96. Coffee – any time, anywhere – but especially lovely at dusk on the shores of Lake Tahoe.

After 6 hours of adventure and drinking a boatload of water, the splurge was all mine!

95. Pretty Restaurant Dishes in My House – They Spruce Up Anything I Concoct

94. Being Able to Do Pull Ups

93. An Afternoon Nap

92. Twitter

91. Fit Stanley

Fit Stanley's waterproof (laminate) attire worked out well in the kayak.

So that’s the first installment of my little list (note: BF+ is skeptical that I can come up with 100 – ha!). Be sure to stay tuned – besides the rest of the list – there is a LOT on the horizon!

  • Fit Stanley Will be Moving On (His time at Kamp Krazy Kris has come to an end and we’re figuring out his next adventure)
  • Lake Tahoe Recap (I bet BF+ didn’t know that I know EVERY WORD OF EVERY SONG TO THE GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD DOUBLE ALBUM – he was so patient and never once complained during our drive while I sang the lyrics AND accompanied with the occasional guitar/piano solo)
  • More Lake Tahoe Recap (yoga under the trees, slightly bloody bike injury, kayaking)
  • Even More Lake Tahoe Recap (yes, as requested, there will be funny  bike video)
  • Finally, the update on my July Experiment of 20 minutes of ANY TYPE OF MOVEMENT, every day – you might be surprised how it turned out!

So, I guess you are about 3 months older than I am. We can debate who is wiser! ;-)

    • Kris says:

LOL I never claim to be wise – although any my wisdom that I might have is from major mistakes, emotional pain and embarrassment LOL
