Healing the Body, Mind and Spirit

Students report improvements in sleep patterns, emotional response, mental calm, stress reduction, and physical wellness.

My Approach

Balancing effort with release, my approach addresses both the physical and the spiritual tenets of yoga, emphasizing acceptance, strength, compassion, honesty, endurance, breath work, flexibility, and meditation. My intention is to make the practice accessible to everyone, regardless of fitness level or mental ‘calm’. I also guide clients to integrate ancient yogic principles in a modern day context to create more energy, clarity, and contentment.

Helping Your Clients and Employees Through Customized Therapeutic and Corporate Programs

Recovery Community

The mental, emotional and spiritual teachings of various recovery programs align perfectly with yogic principles. By integrating movement with breath, clients experience in their body the principles of surrender, faith, honesty, open mindedness, and willingness. I work with recovering alcoholics and addicts of varying lengths of sobriety to practice 12-step principles through their bodies, minds, and spirits.

Professionals

Many professionals struggle to find time for self-care and operate in a chronically stressed condition. Practicing yoga creates opportunity and space to release tension, quiet the mind, settle the nervous system, thereby improving energy, effectiveness, and focus. My clients apply lessons learned on the mat to their every day life to create their best life and increase their contribution to their families, communities, and organizations.

Kris embodies the essence of Dharma Yoga. Her commitment to bring Spirit into the practice is pure. Kris leads and guides with such love and compassion that everyone feels safe and cared for. Namaste.

Thai Vedic Bodywork

Thai Yoga Bodywork (also known as Vedic Thai, Assisted Yoga or Vedic Yoga) is a style of bodywork that synchronizes flowing rhythmic compressions with the receiver’s slow and intentional breath. This typically produces a relaxed and meditative experience, coupled with feelings of physical wellness. Clients typically report relief from pain and a sense of physical ease. Sometimes the receivers fall asleep, sometimes they report a beautiful meditative state during and following the session.

The session occurs on a Thai mat with the receiver fully clothed. The receiver is passive throughout the session, while I gently assist to create space in the body and mind. Think of it as a gentle yoga practice without the effort!

I conduct Thai Yoga Bodywork sessions in Atascadero and can travel anywhere in San Luis Obispo county.

My venture towards Thai Vedic Bodywork evolved as a natural progression of my yoga teaching journey, which involved studying with Mukti Beck (Vedic Conservatory), one of my gifted teacher’s teacher.

Testimonials

I work in a very physical job that puts my body through a strenuous amount of contortions and repetitive motions. Because I am right handed over the course of time it twists my back and shoulders to one side. It also causes my left arm and hip to hurt.

While the yoga helps in working both sides evenly, the Thai yoga massage seems to really open up my hips and lower back. For a couple of weeks I feel a LOT better physically. Less achy and with better movement, especially to my left.

It’s amazing! I was getting a regular massage and while it helped I was astounded by how much better I felt after the Thai masssage.

Thank you for teaching me that I can trust people and not be afraid…

I felt stiff, a little sleepy, and a bit anxious before the treatment. During the treatment I felt enlighten, present and connected to the universe.

As for the body mechanics, I felt my entire body being more fluid in movement. When you were working on my hips and lower back I felt my neck and head release tension.

At the end of treatment I was better able to focus my mind on meditating. Overall, the treatment helped me physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

You are truly gifted at this as well as being an amazing yoga teacher!
